The PleaseConvinceMe Podcast is hosted by Jim Wallace; former atheist and current Cold Case Homicide Detective. We examine the case for the Christian Worldview from an evidential perspective and do our best to tell it like it is. With the rules of evidence clearly in mind, we examine the case for the existence of God, the reality of dualism, the reliability of the Biblical text, and the deity of Jesus. Along the way we also take a critical look at the nature of the Christian Church in America today. Why are so many young people leaving the church? Why are so many older Christians apathetic and unengaged? Why do so few Christians understand what they believe, and why do even fewer understand WHY they believe it? Join us each week as we sort through the evidence for the Christian Worldview and examine the life of the Church. And please visit our website at www.PleaseConvinceMe.com for our list of archived podcasts and FREE downloadable videos, articles and training materials!

A series on the history of Jews and Judaism in antiquity.
From Israelite to Jew
As a young Jewish teenage boy, Henry Oertelt lived with his mother and brother in Berlin, Germany as the storm clouds of Hitler’s Nazi hatred, discrimination and violence toward Jews grew darker. Henry avoided arrest by the Gestapo until 1943, when at age 22 he began his amazing saga of surviving five Nazi concentration camps. His story of the 18 cliff-hanging events which led to his Nazi death camp survival is told in his book, An Unbroken Chain.
In a world premiere podcast here at KVSC, Dr. Oertelt tells his astounding story of survival, human dignity and perseverance.
Dr. Oertelt has a long history of involvement with SCSU, and with Holocaust remembrance activities. He is the recipient of many honors, among them an Honorary Doctorate from SCSU in 2006, and an Honorary Doctorate from Southwest State University in Marshall in 2007.

We explore, in depth, the Ramchal's book Derech Hashem. This is a live recording of the twice-weekly shiur Ari presents in Yeshiva Nesivos Ahron in Jerusalem. The topics discussed are fundamental to a proper understanding of Jewish thought, based on the underlying themes of Kabbalah that run through the works of the Ramchal.

Bitachon, trust, is one of the most essential and fundamental aspects of the Jew's relationship with his Creator. The more one develops his trust, the more Hashem shows him that He is personally involved in his life. This trust has many advantages, many of which are explored in this podcast. The style of the podcast is based on the tradition of teaching Bitachon received from Rabbi Yechiel Perr, who in turn received it from Rabbi Aron Kotler. This style includes real-life examples and stories, beside textual-based lessons in developing trust in Hashem.
Sharei Bitachon
Kabbalah is the body of spiritual wisdom which the Jewish people has carefully preserved and handed down through the ages. It contains deep spiritual messages that are universal in nature, and have withstood the test of time. These ideas are as vibrantly alive today as they were thousands of years ago when they were first taught. In this down to earth and good-natured podcast, Rabbi Baruch Z'ev Olenick and Ari Goldwag get their feet wet in the Kabbalistic sea of wisdom, sharing a light hearted taste of its waters with the initiated and uninitiated alike. Let those who are thirsty come and drink!

Join us each week as we analyze a section of the weekly parshah. From a careful study of the text and the guidance of the Midrash and classic commentaries, we find that the parshah has a great deal to teach us about modern life. This class, which is given each week to the women of Yad Binyamin, Israel, takes a decidedly Zionist perspective to the parshah as well.
