Lake Washington is the largest body of fresh water bordering the city of Seattle. Two floating bridges carry the traffic from Seattle to the Eastside communities, but in an earlier time these people crossed the lake by ferry boat and many of them landed in Kirkland. Today Kirkland is a waterfront community offering a charming, pedestrian-friendly downtown that beckons you to explore. This is a delightful one hour walking tour exploring 15 blocks on level or slight grades. The starting point for this tour is the Kirkland Library's free parking lot at 308 Kirkland Way. Tour length: 60 minutes
