Ragnarök describes the end of the world - literally "the doom of the gods" - as the universe sinks into a miasma of wickedness, and evil powers awake and grow strong.
Betrayed by one of their own - Loki - the gods are weakened: and their enemies strengthened. As the end of Time approaches, Asgard is surrounded by powerful enemies: confident of the event.
Their doom is at hand: but before the gods ride out to their last battle, Odin ponders what will happen after the end of all things - after the Nameless One allows the shattered world-tree to fall back into the primeval cauldron of Chaos?
