Resist or Be Terminated began as a call to action. Now it is a call to arms. Skynet Research, that friendly leader in robotics technology, dedicating to impacting the future of the human race turned out to be far worse than just another corporate entity, ready to exploit people to turn a profit. IT IS A COMPUTER. IT IS PREPARING FOR WAR. AND WE ARE THE ENEMY! Hard as it may be to believe, this is the future Skynet is promising. It is counting on us to fall for the lie, to unwittingly let it gather more power, take control of more areas of human enterprise, before unleashing a horrible fate onto the world. A day when its robots will start hunting the people they have served; a day when Skynet will launch nukes on every country in the world, the day Skynet begins its quest to erase the human race from the face of the Earth. This will come to be known as Judgment Day. We must stop Skynet in our time. We must fight back while we still can. The future is not set, but it is up to every one of us to prevent it. Up to us to save our future, to join the war, to JOIN THE RESISTANCE. The choice is simple: Resist Or Be Terminated.
Resist or Be Terminated
It was published in 1893–1894 by Century Magazine in seven installments, and is a detective story with some racial themes. The plot of this novel is a detective story, in which a series of identities — the judge's murderer, Tom, Chambers — must be sorted out. This structure highlights the problem of identity and one's ability to determine one's own identity. Broader issues of identity are the central ideas of this novel.
Twain's multiple plots and thrown-together style do serve to inform a central set of issues, with the twins, Pudd'nhead, and Tom and Chambers all serving as variations on a theme. The themes are slavery, tradition, and nature vs. nurture. To a lesser extent, Southern society and first impressions are also touched upon, and the novel is one of the first to use fingerprints as a means of unique identification, as it was not until 1897 that the world's first Fingerprint Bureau opened in Calcutta.
One of Twain's major goals in this book was to exploit the true nature of Racism at that period. Twain used comic relief as a way to divulge his theme. The purpose of a comic relief is to address his or her opinion in a less serious way, yet persuade the reader into thinking the writers thoughts. Twain's use of satire is visible throughtout the book. Twain's use of colloquialism(dialect) and local color as features of Naturalism to convey his theme, is impressive and ahead for his time.(Summary by Wikipedia)
Librivox: Tragedy of Pudd'nhead Wilson, The - Version 2 by Twain, Mark
Horizons West was a fascinating, thirteen-installment docudrama which traced the movements of the famous Lewis and Clark expedition from 1803 to 1806. President Thomas Jefferson’s charter to Captains Meriwether Lewis and William Clark was to trace the origination point of the Missouri River, from St. Louis, Missouri to the Great Falls of Montana–and eventually beyond.
Captain Meriwether Lewis’ appointment as President Jefferson’s personal secretary inaugurates the arc of thirteen chapters of the Horizons West series. Given the competition for the vast natural resources of the Northwest Territories of the United States, President Jefferson undertook to devise a secret expedition to survey the new territory leading to the Pacific Ocean by first tracing the route and tributary origins of the Mississippi, Missouri, and Columbia rivers, followed by a further exploration leading to a direct route from the origin of the Missouri headwaters, west to the Pacific Ocean.
Lewis and Clark’s competition along the way would be the French, English and Russian settlers, trappers and officials, themselves attempting to map, track and exploit the potentially rich territories of the Northwest.
With the announcement of the securing of the Louisiana Purchase of July 4, 1803, President Jefferson finally felt secure in scheduling Lewis and Clark’s ultimate exploration. With a great deal of the land to be initially explored now legally in the possession of the seventeen United States of America, Lewis and Clark’s Corps of Discovery finally undertook their adventure in December of 1803.
Once Lewis and Clark had met up and established Camp DuBois (on the eastern shore of the Mississippi near Hartford, Illinois), they began to undertake the provisioning necessary for their expedition–all the while under the greatest possible secrecy.

FastOS is a Department of Energy Office of Science funded program
focused on exploratory work in operating systems and runtimes for petascale
and beyond supercomputers.
Operating and runtime systems provide mechanisms to manage system
hardware and software resources for the efficient execution of
large scale scientific applications. They are essential to the
success of both large scale systems and complex applications. By
the end of this decade petascale computers with thousands of times
more computational power than any in current use will be vital tools
for expanding the frontiers of science and for addressing vital
National priorities. These systems will have tens to hundreds of
thousands of processors, an unprecedented level of complexity, and
will require significant new levels of scalability and fault
management. The overwhelming size and complexity of such systems
poses deep technical challenges that must be overcome to fully
exploit their potential for scientific discovery. Applications require
multiple services from OS/R layers, including: resource management and
scheduling, fault-management (detection, prediction, recovery, and
reconfiguration), configuration management, and file systems access and
management. Current and future large scale parallel systems require that
such services be implemented in a fast and scalable manner so that the
OS/R does not become a performance bottleneck. The current trend in large
scale scientific systems is to leverage operating systems developed for
other areas of computing - operating systems that were not specifically
designed for large scale, parallel computing platforms. Unix, Linux and
other Unix derivatives are the most popular OS's in use for high end
scientific computing, and these all reflect a technological heritage
nearly 30-years old with few fundamental mechanisms to support
parallel systems.
