Camels are masters of the art of survival. They can go for up to ten months without a drop of water, then drink 200 litres in only 15 minutes, and even digest salt water. Domesticated as beasts of burden they laid the foundations of ancient long-distance trade, with salt and incense caravans regularly crossing the most hostile landscapes in the world. Today, camels are still the most important source of milk, meat, leather, wool, fertilizer and fuel in large parts of Africa and Asia, and for the Bedouins of Arabia. Unsurprisingly Bedouins call the camel Al-Ata Allah, the gift of God. Now medical researchers are exploring the miraculous properties of camels milk apparently effective against Alzheimers and cancer! The film shows camels defying the deadly conditions of the desert with their Bedouin owners; valuable decorated fighting camels, cosseted and pitched against one another in Turkey; Saudi Arabias unique hi-tech camel clinics; and feral camels in Australia, saved from the cull and coralled for re-expor

The mission of the international nonprofit NFPA is to reduce the worldwide burden of fire and other hazards on the quality of life by providing and advocating consensus codes and standards, research, training, and education. NFPA membership totals more than 81,000 individuals from around the world and more than 80 national trade and professional organizations.
Established in 1896, NFPA serves as the world's leading advocate of fire prevention and is an authoritative source on public safety. In fact, NFPA's 300 codes and standards influence every building, process, service, design, and installation in the United States, as well as many of those used in other countries. NFPA's focus on true consensus has helped the association's code-development process earn accreditation from the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).

When herpes ceases being a shameful burden, it becomes an opportunity: to change self-defeating beliefs, for authentic connection, for deeper self-acceptance.

These fourteen tales of supernatural suspense adhere to the most primal element of storytelling: a single human voice describing events exactly as it experienced them without adding the stylish techniques which dilute, stretch, and burden horror fiction with unnecessary detail. Here you will find no entry into the thoughts of any characters other than the narrator's, no standard passages of dialogue, no humor, no romance, no profanity, no extraneous gore. The stories, stripped of even proper titles, spill forward as taut, uninterrupted confessions. Knifepoint Horror leaves nothing but the story's riveting spine to compel and chill you to the core. Copyright 2007, 2010 by Soren Narnia. Music by Kevin MacLeod. You might also enjoy other podcasts by Soren Narnia: "Joke Meets Ground" and "The National Museum of Romance."

Schizophrenia is notable for its substantial impact on everyday functioning, being one of the top five causes of disability in individuals under the age of 25. In most cases, individuals who develop schizophrenia manifest behavioral changes prior to the formal diagnosis of the condition. These changes, referred to as the "prodrome," are variable across individuals who may eventually develop schizophrenia. Proactive risk assessment in other chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes mellitus, and cancer has brought about advances in early detection and intervention leading to substantial reductions in morbidity, mortality, and improved quality of life. It is imperative that this type of proactive intervention becomes part of timely diagnosis and better outcomes for patients with schizophrenia. Clinicians face challenges designing treatment plans for patients with schizophrenia that will maximize adherence and reduce side effects. Relapse rates tend to be quite predictable, can be affected by adherence, and have multiple adverse consequences. Minimizing relapse requires a coordinated effort between the patient, provider, family, and multidisciplinary treatment team. In this interactive neuroscienceCME activity, faculty will focus on the impact of treatment selection, phase of illness, medication adherence, and side effect burden on the journey toward remission and recovery in schizophrenia. This activity also includes a special "After the Show" segment during which the faculty answers additional audience questions in an informal Q&A session.
Schizophrenia: Treating a Chronic Disease with a Focus on Early Intervention, Adherence, and Recovery
